The governor who made the appeal at a special church service in Asaba said It was only when they worked together and executes programmes and policies religiously that they could finish their tenure successfully in the state.
The governor who was reacting to a sermon delivered by Rev Fr. Mario Dibie said for his administration to meet the yearnings and aspirations of the people, Commissioners in the state should be focused and defend the polices and programmes of the state stoutly.
“I want to appeal to members of the Executive council to be committed, loyal and hardworking to enable us finish strongly and land well in 2015. We owe Deltans the obligation to meet their yearnings and if we work together in brotherhood we will achieve it”.
He assured Deltans of his commitment to leave behind a good legacy that would be appreciated by all Daltans. Explaining that his greatest aspiration was to actualize his administration’s 3 point agenda to the benefit of Deltans.
Speaking further, he said his expectation was not only to develop infrastructures but to provide quality health care and improved standard of living for Deltans.
The governor gave assurance that he would leave a befitting legacy even as he explained that would religiously complete the mandate given to him by Deltans.
“I want to leave a legacy in Delta state, my legacy is not building an airport or New Government House but to provide quality Health, transport system etc for Deltans. That Deltans can at least identify my administration with something good.”
Governor Uduaghan noted that his administrations desire was to finish well and called for co-operation from all Deltans to achieve the mandate especially the three point agenda of government.
Explaining further, he acknowledged the presence of detractors, betrayals and saboteurs in any administration but stated his firm faith in God saying “I believe in prayers, that is what got me to this position and I know that God will see me through”.
He said he would not be intimated to support any cultist to hold political position in the state.
Delivering a sermon titled “You must land well” Rev Fr Mario David Dibie called for co-operation among Deltans especially those in authority in order to promote unity in the state.
He charged politicians and Christians to have total faith in God and use their strength to develop the state rather than run the state down through sabotage.
Fr Mario enumerate four things to abide by to enable Deltans land well, they include knowing those things in us that others don’t know, knowing the things in us that others know about us.
Others are the things in us that we do not know but others know them about us and the things in us that we do not know and others do not know them about us.
