OCHEI, OMO-AGEGE, OKOLIE, OTHERS RISK EXPULSION AS PDP ULTIMATUM TO DECAMPEES EXPIRES **No Going Back on Senatorial Quest – Ochei ***Delta PDP Suspends 4 Party Officers In Aniocha North LGA For Alleged Anti Party Activities

OCHEI3The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has given 48 hours to those who defected from the party in Delta State to return or face sanctions, even as the Delta PDP has suspended four of its officials in Aniocha LGA for alleged Anti-party activities.
The message of the ultimatum was conveyed by the Deputy Chairman of the PDP for the South South Zone, Chief Cairo Ojougbo, while addressing the mammoth crowd during the Campaign Flag Off of the Delta State governorship candidate of the party, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, in Oghara on Tuesday, January 13, 2015.
Ojougboh noted in a very terse tone that the PDP would nolonger condone the act of its members leaving the party to contest under other platforms, when they lost primary elections, adding that it was imperative for all those who lost to respect the choice of the party and join hands with the chosen candidates to ensure victory for the party in the general elections.
He then issued the ultimatum in an angry voice affirming that the party would expel any decampee who does not return to its fold within forty eight hours.
Others who risk expulsion from the PDP at the expiration of the ultimatum include Obarisi Ovie Omo-Agege, who decamped to the Labour Party, LP, after the PDP governorship primary of December 8, 2014, to team up with governorship candidate Chief Great Ogboru and contest the Delta Central Senatorial seat against Chief Ighoyota Amori, as well as Mr. Ngozi Okolie, who left the PDP to join Hon. Ochei in the Accord party and contest for the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal House of Representatives against Hon. Onyemaechi Mrakpor.
The ultimatum expires on Friday January 16, 2015.
Meanwhile strong feelers emanating from the camp of Victor Ochei, indicate that the former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly and strong contender in the recent PDP governorship primary is forging ahead with his Senatorial quest for the Delta North Senatorial seat.
Hon. Victor Ochei, who pitched his tent with the Accord Party, AP, from the PDP and picked Delta North senatorial candidate, immediately after the governorship primary of December 8, 2014, stated it loud to all who care to know that his choice of the Accord party is based on the cordial relationship that exists between both political parties.
Ochei said, “Accord Party is more like a party working in tandem with the PDP. I have stepped aside from PDP because I require a platform to contest, not that I have left the PDP.”
Ochei who further noted confirmed that his relationship with the PDP governorship standard bearer, Senator Okowa, remained cordial before and after the primaries, said, “I am supporting him (Okowa) for the governorship poll and President Goodluck Jonathan for president. Accord Party does not have governorship and presidential candidates here in Delta State, I am working for them.”
Hon. Ochei is contesting the Delta North Senatorial seat with former Delta PDP chairman Chief Peter Nwaoboshi and this is what Ochei had to say about Nwaoboshi, “Chief Nwaoboshi does not have what it takes to effectively represent Delta North in the Senate. I do not feel anything. He does not have what it takes to effectively represent the people of Delta North.”
Chief Nwaoboshi, popularly called Oracle in Delta political circles was however quite furious on hearing Ochei’s claim that he was ill-suited to effectively represent the people and responded promptly thus: “What does he (Ochei) mean that I do not have the capacity to effectively represent the people of Delta North? I am more qualified than he is. I am more educated and you cannot compare both of us. We are not in the same class,” he said.
Rumours that the PDP had overlooked Nwaoboshi and given the ticket to Mrs. Mariam Ali (Enyi Kpakpando) were swiftly laid to rest when the party flag for the Delta North Senatorial flag-bearer was presented to him by Delta State PDP Chairman, ChiefEdwin Uzor, during the Campaign Flag Off of the PDP Delta State governorship candidate of the party, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, in Oghara on Tuesday, January 13, 2015.
In a related development, the Delta state Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has suspended the Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and women leader of the party in Aniocha-North LG for alleged involvement in Anti-Party activities.
The party has also ordered an immediate dissolution of the EXCO in a particular ward in Aniocha North.
Delta state Governor, Emmanuel Uduaghan who is the leader of the party in the state, has also ordered investigation into an alleged involvement of a Councillor in anti-party activities in the Council area.
These actions were taken upon an alleged tip-off received by the state Executive of the party, prompting the state party chairman, Chief Edwin Uzor, toset up a committee with the aim of nipping the alleged anti-party activities in the bud, even as he maintained that all PDP faithfuls must deliver their wards and local governments in landslide victories to the party.
The rumpus in the PDP in Aniocha North may not be unconnected with the fact that Hon.Victor Ochei, who recently decamped from the PDP to the Accord Party to contest the Delta North Senatorial seat is from Onicha Olona in Aniocha LGA.
The suspension of the above mentioned officers Aniocha North LGA, is allegedly said to be in connection with the decamping of Hon. Ochei to the Accord party and a purported incident in which the PDP secretariat, Issele Uku, was said to have been invaded by some aggrieved PDP youths on a tip off that the afore mentioned suspended officers where using the office to host a meeting of the Accord party and cause disaffection for the PDP in the LGA.
Hon. Ifeanyi Michael Osuoza, former Delta State Commissioner for Special Duties, Project Monitoring, has since assumed the position as Acting Chairman of the PDP in Aniocha North Council, in accordance with the constitution of the party, following the suspensions of the principal officers by the party.
