ocho6A group, the Ohaneze Ndigbo, Delta Central and South Senatorial district, has hailed Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, over the appointment of Chief Festus Ochonogor as the Chief Political Adviser to the Delta State Government, describing the action as putting a round peg in a round hole, and adding that the presence of the new CPOLAD would further consolidate the harmonious co-existence amongst Deltans and non-indigenes in the state.

This endorsement was made by the leadership of the Ohaneze Ndigbo, Delta Central and South Senatorial district, led by its President, Chief Jude Offor Ralph Chiedozie, who averred that by virtue of his position as the Director of the Focus Group in the Okowa campaign organization, Chief Ochonogor had built a healthy and cordial relationship with all sections of the state including the non indigenes, which not only endeared him to the people but equally reaffirmed the confidence Governor Okowa reposed in his abilities to handle the huge responsibility of Chief Political adviser successfully.

Flanked by other executive members of the Ohaneze Ndigbo, Delta Central and South Senatorial district including the Secretary, Senior Apostle Eke Chukwuman Anya, the Vice President, Chief Ifediba (Ogaranyaejegimba) and the thre Patron, Chief Gabriel Ezeonu, the group advised Chief Ochonogor to continue to carry everybody along in his new position, so that the relationship that existed between him and non indigenes will be further strengthened and more dividends of democracy would be received by the people.

They were also quick to stress that having integrated fully into the Delta space through their established businesses and raised families over the years, they had become one with Deltans and urged the Okowa administration to address the issues of greater protection for them from unprovoked raids which has led to the wanton destruction of their properties, more recognition by their host communities in the allocation of appointments and other welfare benefits, a review of the exorbitant levies imposed on them periodically and a greater presence in government with the creation of a specific portfolio for non-indigenes in the new administration, amongst other desires.

While hailing Governor Okowa for exhibiting an excellent perception for what the people want with the well received appointments he has made so far, including that of Chief Ochonogor, the Ohaneze Ndigbo, Delta Central and South Senatorial district, charged the Governor to maintain his courageous stance by insisting that only the best and deserving people are selected into his cabinet, no matter whose Ox is gored, even as they advised him to put his trust in God alone, as that was the only way to achieve success in his administration as the Governor of Delta State.

They then pledged their continued support and loyalty to the Okowa administration and pleaded with the Governor to give special consideration to efforts towards ensuring the emergence of a united Ohaneze Ndigo in Delta State, as this would surely provide a major channel through which his desire of prosperity for all Deltans can be delivered successfully to the people.
