idabohReports reaching FLASHPOINTNEWS Online from impeccable sources, indicate that frontline Delta politician and owner of one of the leading hospitality establishments in Asaba, the Delta State capital, Prince Uzoma Idaboh, popularly addressed as UZ, was recently arrested and arraigned before a magistrate court in Delta State, by the Nigerian Police.

Prince Idaboh, who is the owner of the well known Nelrose Hotel, Asaba and an aspirant in the People’s Democratic Party, PDP’s Delta State House of Assembly, DTHA, Aniocha North Local Government Area Primary election in November 2014, was arrested for alleged Criminal conspiracy and forgery, by men of the Zone 5 Police Command from Benin who, acting on superior intelligence reports, arrived Asaba unannounced and affected the arrest.

Idaboh, who was summarily arraigned at the Issele-uku Magistrate Court before Chief Magistrate Ewerebor by the Commissioner of Police and placed in the witness dock for the preliminary hearing of the matter, was subsequently slammed with a two-count charge of criminal conspiracy and forgery of PDP Primary result sheets conducted on November 29, 2014, at Martins Primary School Issele-uku, in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, to which he pleaded not guilty.

His Counsel, following the plea of Not Guilty by the accused, consequently made a verbal application for bail and pleaded to the court to grant his client bail on the ground that the offence he allegedly committed, despite its seriousness, was bailable, in line with the letters of the law.

The bail application was not opposed by the prosecuting counsel and Chief Magistrate Ewerebor, in her ruling, granted the accused, Prince Uzoma Idaboh bail in the sum of fifty Thousand Naira only (N50, 000) and a credible surety, who must be resident in Issele-uku. The accused was also requested to deposit his international passport with the court.

The case was then adjourned to February 18 for the commencement of proper hearing.
