The Deputy Speaker, Delta State house of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Friday Ossai Osanebi today gave out millions of Naira to women of Ndokwa East to boost small and medium scale businesses and to consolidate on Governor Okowa’s prosperity agenda.
According to the Deputy Speaker, he was moved with compassion and love at the large turn out of women who had gathered at Ozomuku Primary School, Ashaka yesterday (15/8/16) to welcome the Delta State People’s Democratic Party ( PDP) Women Leader, Lady Kanwulia Omoko on a working visit to Ndokwa East.
Osanebi who affirmed that the women and members of the party at large were united across board, expressed his delight seeing the women in their large numbers; an indication that the PDP remains the only political party in Ndokwa East and Delta State at large.
In his usual manner and to enhance transparency and fairness, the Deputy Speaker considered some of the nominations of the ward leaders and mandated the PDP state women leader, to randomly pick the beneficiaries from the gathering, numbering thirty (30) in a whole.
Admonishing the beneficiaries to put to judicious use of the monies, the Deputy a Speaker said that the intent of the empowerment was to create more business opportunities, boost small and medium scale enterprises and to bring prosperity to the door step of the downtrodden and as such the women should do their best and not to disappoint Governor Okowa, the prosperity visionary.
Addressing the large gathering, Osanebi said: ” it gladdens my heart to see you people happy. Any where I meet with women, I must empower them”. The Empowerment Master added that he’s set to empower women any where they gather, even in burial ceremonies, in other to rapidly spread prosperity to the people.
In her remark, the Local Government Chairman, Mrs. Chukwurah Nkechi thanked the Deputy Speaker for choosing women for empowerment and prayed God to bless him the more to help more women. She further charged the women to make judicious use of the monies given to them.
Delta state PDP women leader in her address also thanked the Deputy Speaker for his support to the governor and empowerment to the women of Delta State. She also admonished the women to remain peaceful and double their support and commitment to PDP saying that in next general elections, PDP will take over again.
The beneficiaries expressed their joy and satisfaction and also thanked the Deputy Speaker for the benevolence. Some of the women empowered include: Mercy Nwadialor, Ifeyinwa Egbuna, Ngozi Olisa, Magdalene Obah, Beauty Enemose Joy Asabiru, Mrs Juliana Uduashi, Martha Enudi, Felicia Eke, Lucy Oliweh. Others are Ekushe Nkonye, Anuku Chinwe, Obieze Philomena, Patience Eke, Nwachukwu Faith, Nwafili Rose, Dike Josephine, Njide Nwabueze, ifenyiwa Egbune among others.
