Governor Okowa in a condolence message by his Chief Press Secretary, Charles Aniagwu, commiserated with the Iloba family, Asagba-in-Council and the people of Asaba on the demise of the nonagenarian veteran journalist, prolific writer and Diokpa of Isieke quarters, Asaba.
According to the Governor, “the late Chief Iloba was a great author, poet, sports enthusiast, devout Christian and community leader who promoted harmonious relations between indigenous people of Asaba and inhabitants of the state capital.
“On behalf of my family the government and people of Delta State, I commiserate with the Iloba family of Isieke quarters, the Asagba-in-Council and the people of Asaba over the painful loss of our leader and father Chief John Iloba.
“He will be remembered for his phenomenal and outstanding contributions to the development of Asaba and for his advocacy for the review of traditional and customary laws of Asaba people to suit the city’s state capital status.” he said.
Governor Okowa prayed God Almighty to grant the family and the people of Asaba the fortitude to bear the loss.
